Primary & Acute Care

Medical Advisor

Biography

Dr. Gudel's journey in medicine began conventionally at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by an osteopathic internship and an internal medicine residency. Joining the Air Force, she initially embraced traditional medical practices, prescribing extensively as trained. However, a career-defining moment came during her battle with a brain tumor, coinciding with her discovery of lifestyle medicine alongside physician colleagues. This revelation steered her away from a future in dermatology to opening Alabama's second lifestyle medicine practice, focusing on the root causes of health issues over mere symptom management. With 13 years of experience, Dr. Gudel is licensed in Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida, offering both in-person and telemedicine consultations. Her approach has evolved, particularly influenced by societal changes since 2020, towards promoting independence and self-reliance in health care. She advocates for using local resources and the benefits of home gardening for well-being. Today, Dr. Gudel is not only a medical practitioner but also a fervent gardener and local nursery enthusiast, embodying the lifestyle medicine principles she espouses.
